Blockbuster Online Total Access - 6 or More DVDs at a Time for 17.99

I finally jumped on the bandwagon last year and got the 3 DVD, 17.99 subscription to NetFlix. I liked the online method for ordering and being able to return through the mail. I initially found that they had a good selection and that I was able to receive about 9-12 DVDs a month. This came to about 2.00 or less per rental and not travelling to the store. Considering that Blockbuster is about 4.95 each that was a deal. I was even able to get the latest movies by queueing them up before they were released. I kept them at the top of my list and then when there were released they would arrive. A friend told me about that trick.

Blockbuster then came out with their Total Access program. It is based off a very comparable online rental program where you select the movies you want and then check the mail. The difference, however, is that you can return to the store or via mail. When you return to the store, you can then take an instore movie with you. With my 3 DVD subscription, I took my 3 DVDs to the store after viewing them. I then picked 3 off of the shelf and checked out for free! I also asked the guy at the desk for a specific title and he said they were out of it. He gave me a free pass for it next time I came because it was “Guaranteed in store”. I had never taken notice of that program before. Anyway, a couple of days later 3 more came in the mail. I then had 6 in my possession.

The next week I got an email for a free instore rental and I brought back the six I had. I checked out 3 new ones for my mail returns and 1 bonus for the email, and 1 for the title they were out of. A few days later I had 8 in my possession.

This program has been far superior in my estimation to NetFlix. Read about it from the source here.
